Arden Handler, PhD, MPH

Dr. Arden Handler is Professor Emeritus of Community Health Sciences and former Director of the Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. Her work focuses on reducing inequities in maternal and infant health by examining drivers of adverse pregnancy outcomes and strengthening care across the continuum, including prenatal, postpartum, and preconception services. A nationally recognized leader, she has led major program evaluations and policy initiatives, including I PROMOTE-IL, and continues to advance research, workforce development, and advocacy through leadership roles and national recognition, including the Title V Lifetime Achievement Award.
